There's a moment when you try on a piece of clothing, look in the mirror, and for an instant, you don't think about anything. You don't ask yourself if it looks good on you. You already know.

My name is Mae Archer. Since 2011, right here in Melbourne, I've chosen every fabric in the Archer & Bloom collection. Not for a passing trend, or for how it looks in a photo, but for how it will make the woman wearing it feel.

Over the years I've learned to tell a good cut from one that only looks pretty on the hanger, and which fabrics move softly with you and which ones weigh you down after an hour. I've learned that a woman with a busy life doesn't have time for clothing that doesn't feel like her. That's why I turn down more fabrics than I choose.

Archer is my family name. Bloom is my daughter. This year she joined the business, not because it was necessary, but because she wanted to bring her own vision to something I've built step by step. Watching her choose us has been one of the most beautiful moments of these fifteen years.

Every piece is chosen in limited quantities, and when it's gone, it's really gone. We ship from Melbourne to women right across Australia and New Zealand.
